There is an opportunity to meet the unmet needs of people within housing developments that are seeking a more accommodating means of staying fit. This reduces the amount of time people utilize in going to and from their nearest gym such as Gold’s Gym or attracts people that normally wouldn’t workout before or after work due to the inconvenience of driving 15 to 20 minutes to the nearest gym. Placing a fitness center in a housing development and offering classes such as yoga, palates, P90X, turbo kickboxing, spin, etc. would allow residents to walk down the street and get a life changing work out from a certified personal trainer. Classes would be offered before, during, and after the work day from the hours of 5am to 9pm. The amenity of having access to this great fitness center will be included into the HOA fees. The name of the business will be Omega Life Fitness.
Good job on your pitch. You seemed very collected and your body language made this easy to watch. Sometimes when people are visibly nervous and fidget a lot, it can make the viewer feel uncomfortable. That certainly wasn’t the case here because you seemed confident and knowledgeable about what you were talking about. It was also good that you included the statistic about houses with fitness centers nearby to help convey the importance of your venture.
ReplyDeleteHi LeTray, you did a great job with your elevator speech. I thought it was a great idea to ask a question to start of your speech. You are a strong communicator and it really showed in your speech. This could be a difficult market to jump into because there is a lot of competition. If you use a unique strategy it could really pay off.
ReplyDeleteRight on!! It's great to see someone else is wanting to help better our society's health as well. I think this is a wonderful idea. Including the cost in the HOA fees is perfect - it will also make people think they're saving money since they're not having to pay for a costly gym membership every month. The convenience of having a gym just steps away from home would be great for all ages in a family, in all benefitting everyone in the community. I especially think this would be a prime business opportunity for those home communities that are like little towns. Keep up the good work! :)
ReplyDeleteDillon i thought you did really well in your pitch. i know personally i hate the facilities that housing developments offer usually they are very minimal and don't serve all my fitness needs. however on the other hand sometime i find myself not going to the gym because of the inconvenience of driving to the gym. this would solve all my problems. they could also add in the cost to rent which i would completely understand because it serves the same as you spending on a membership to a local gym. great idea.
